Nut Bag Santorum Wants to Kill National Weather Service

He's introduced a bill that is apparently worded very vaguely but has been interpreted to mean the removal of all NWS data from the web. Ricky says that it is to protect the private sector (namely two companies, AccuWeather and The Weather Channel). Of course, AccuWeather is in PA, and apparently the owner of it has given some coin to Santorum.

This guy is such a punk. And this is just as blatant a pandering as the so-called "Justice Sunday" which the nutty GOoPers have couched their needing to go 'nukular' on the filibuster as a Democratic war against christianity. Scratch that - 10 'christians' that also happen to be the 10 judges that the Senate would not confirm in his 1st term that dubya re-nominated, just to be a dink.

Wal-Mart: Direct Evidence It Hates Unions

In Quebec, where some 40% of the working population is unionized (~29% for all of Canada), they are closing a store because it unionized.

This, of course, goes along with shutting down a meat section in a TX Wal-Mart cause the meat packers unionized. This is part and parcel of how they do business.

So, instead of paying it's workers fair wages and negotiating in good faith, it closes stores. They are already the #1 retailer in Canada. The Walton children are 4 of the wealthiest people on the planet, each worth over $20 BILLION, and they wont give people real 40 hour work weeks, with benefits and stuff.

They're just a bunch of pussies if they can't handle a little local union in Quebec.

[Update: NPR had a story about this today on Morning Edition, according to my wonderful wifey - 5/4/2005]
