Sen. Reid's Quote of the Week

From PoliticalWire.com, this quote from NV Sen. Harry Reid:

"The man's father is a wonderful human being. I think this guy is a loser. I think President Bush is doing a bad job."

Could not have said it any better.

Howard Dean appeared on Meet The Press this morning and summarily embarrassed himself and the Democratic party with continued undisciplined, off the cuff, reckless mudslinging. He was laughably unprepared for the interview. I find myself angry with him for such an embarrassing performance. Instead of talking about issues and the Democratic agenda, he spent the majority of his time explaining bomb shells born from his unrestrained mouth.

The Democratic National Chairman gave a speech and effectively said Tom DeLay should serve a jail sentence for things he hasn't even been charged with. He protected Osama Bin Laden's right to trial and wouldn't afford the majority leader 'innocent until proven guilty.' Embarrassing.

I could go on and on, but find myself disgusted by this performance. He was unprepared, unsure of facts, and unable to explain the fractures between himself and the rest of the party. He flip-flopped on the issue of ethics in the same interview. He said in the press that the Democrats shouldn't be talking about Tom DeLay and his ethical violations. Then he comes on the show and spends several minutes promoting DeLay's problems. The 10 minutes later he says that we shouldn't be talking about ethical issues.

Disgraceful. Absolutely Disgraceful. How could he be unprepared for questions on Social Security? He offered no vision at all. Where is the leadership? Howard Dean should step down as Democratic Majority Leader. Today. For the good of the country and the party. The country urgently needs an alternative to the Repulican Party. Howard Dean is not providing that. All he is doing is criticizing the greenness of his neighbor's lawn, instead of working on his own.
