They are starting to see infectious disease starting to peek out - and thet'd better watch out. they're talking TB and gastrointeritis in kids at the Astrodome, and Vibrio vulnificus in Biloxi (I've never heard of it). Apparently it's a bacterium carried in seawater, and this virulent form is 20% fatal.And, this little tidbit struck me:

Two senior-level state and federal sources say that the death toll could top 6,000. Both believe that the majority of deaths — 80 to 90 percent — were caused by a slow response from FEMA and Department of Homeland Security.
