See - I'm not just about politics... :O)Microsoft announces 12 security patches, EIGHT of them being declared critical. Check the update descriptions and plan accordingly for your home system.
As an aside, Gibson Research Corp is a good place to help check your system vulnerabilities, from internet security thorugh open ports to silly MS-Windows vulnerabilities and things you can do to turn off certain things that the vast majority most home users would never need - like Windows Messaging and DCOM.
